The 2009 Lexus GS-350 comes in two models with the big difference being whether it is the standard rear wheel drive model or the extra cost all wheel drive model. For the difference in cost and living in Colorado with friends and family in Wyoming and Nebraska, I would definitely spend the extra for the all wheel drive model.The GS-350 comes with the 3.5 liter V-6 which has an aluminum alloy block. It has four cams and four valves per cylinder with dual Variable Valve Timing with intelligence It is rated at 303 horsepower at 6200 RPM. Plenty of power and plenty quick. It is a Certified Ultra-Low Emissions Vehicle for all the “Greenies” out there. It is rated at 19/26 for the rear wheel drive and 18/25 for the all wheel drive. 0-60 in 5.8 seconds for those of you that care about that. The GS-350 comes with the six-speed sequential shift electronically controlled transmission with intelligence. With all this intelligence, should we worry about the car outsmarting us? Ha! I was visiting with a guy at the grocery store the other day that has a 2007 GS-350 and it was not one of our prettiest days. It was slick and cold and snowy and he said his GS-350 All Wheel Drive goes anywhere he wants to go and really works good on icy and snow packed roads. Besides the All Wheel Drive, there are all the other handling and safety features too. That makes the GS-350 a ver practical car for Colorado winters. Along with the AWD, you have four wheel ventilated power disc brakes, Vehicle Dynamic Integrated Management, Vehicle Stability Control, Traction Control, Adaptive Front Headlights, plus all the latest seat belt and air bag technology. The GS-350 also has the theft deterrent and engine immobilizer wit a in-key transponder. Pretty much fool-proof.The GS-350 has the top of the line 10 way adjustable leather seats which can be heated and ventilated, height adjustable headrests, home link to open the garage doors and turn the lights on in the house. The new GS-350 also has available the Navigation Syst4m and a 14 speaker Mark Levinson Premium Surround Sound Audio System with Automatic Sound Levelizer and an in-dash six CD auto changer. It has Ipod/mp3/WMA port. All the controls are on the steering wheel which makes it really handy.As with all Lexus models there is a good selection of colors available and the best paint jobs in the inustry. There are ten exterior colors and three leather colors for the seats.If you are looking for a really nice, go anywhere sedan that is luxurious but yet still affordable, you might want to check out a new or good used GS-350 AWD.
